The biggest way to be sustainable when shopping for clothing is to not over consume. In a fast paced and capitalist society, the idea that you need more and more and more is pushed constantly. Do not buy things you don’t need and aren’t going to use enough. Read that again. This is even true at places like thrift stores! Don’t over consume just because it feels more ethical.
THRIFT! It is usually the simplest, most convenient, and cheapest option.
Buy from sustainable brands when making big purchases (ex. A pair of shoes or a winter coat) and especially if you have the money to do so.
Do not throw away clothes!! Donate them, sell them, and if they are beyond wear, keep the fabric scraps. You can use them as rags for any number of things.
